Diaspora North is here to fix that.
What we’re building
Three things, to start:
- A newcomer resource hub — plain-language guides for housing, healthcare, schools, work, banking and the everyday details that don’t always make it into the official handbooks.
- A local business directory — diaspora-owned and newcomer-friendly businesses across the region, easy to find and easy to support.
- A blog — stories, profiles and guides from across our communities, written by neighbours.
Why now
Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, North Bay — every one of these communities has growing diaspora populations and businesses serving them. What’s missing is a single place to find each other.
That’s the gap Diaspora North fills.
